Big Hole River Angler Entomology Clinic

Held in collaboration with Save Wild Trout and Chuck Robbins Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
Join us on the banks of the Big Hole River! During this hands-on event, you’ll improve your hatch matching knowledge by learning from professional entomologists from The Salmonfly Project.
- You’ll learn about the biology of aquatic insects found on the Big Hole.
- You’ll learn how to collect and identify aquatic insects, including the nymphs and adults of your favorite hatches.
- You’ll learn about the life histories and behaviors of different insects and how to mimic them to catch more fish.
Please bring weather-appropriate wading gear and clothing, as this is an outdoor event!
All participants will receive a field guide of major hatches of the western US. Free refreshments will also be provided. Donations are encouraged; all donations will go directly to The Salmonfly Project to support their local education and conservation efforts.
